On March 13, 2017, SGG Senior Attorney Helen A. Sklar joined other trainers, lawyers and activists at Ruben F. Salazar Park in East Los Angeles in spreading the message that everyone living in the United States, including people who are undocumented, have certain basic rights.  Ms. Sklar and representatives from the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) spoke to a group of approximately 40 community residents about immigration benefits, constitutional rights, criminal immigration issues, and consumer fraud.  NDLON activists educated the attendees with engaging know your rights skits, followed by Ms. Sklar’s interactive session on a wide variety of immigration legal issues.

The following day, Ms. Sklar joined Robert Foss, Director of Immigrant Legal Services at International Institute of Los Angeles, to speak on immigration law issues with the congregation of St. Agnes Church in Los Angeles.  They took questions from the audiences and provided information on various immigration law topics.

Feel free to contact us if you are interested in having SGG attorneys deliver a presentation on immigration law and/or constitutional rights for your community group or congregation.
