Veronica Jeffers

Veronica Jeffers joined SGG Immigration LLP (“SGG”) in 2022, with over 30 years of immigration law experience.  During her career, Ms. Jeffers has practiced in all areas of immigration law, working with clients ranging from chief executives of multinational corporations to unaccompanied children in removal proceedings.

At SGG, Ms. Jeffers focuses on employment-based non-immigrant and immigrant visa services for both non-profit organizations and private sector businesses operating in the services, manufacturing and farming industries.  In addition to providing direct representation legal services to the firm’s clients, Ms. Jeffers also works closely with human resources personnel and foreign student visa officers to help strategize and facilitate the hiring and retention of foreign national professionals and to provide advise on multiple areas of U.S. immigration law.

Throughout her career, Ms. Jeffers has been committed to providing and supporting pro bono activities in the local community.  Most recently, Ms. Jeffers was the managing attorney at KIND’s Los Angeles field office (Kids in Need of Defense).  In this role, Ms. Jeffers oversaw a staff of attorneys and paralegals in the provision of direct legal services to unaccompanied minors living the in the Greater Los Angeles area; and provided mentoring support and training to volunteer attorneys representing these minor children on a pro bono basis.

Ms. Jeffers’ professional activities also extend to the academic field.  She has been a member of the adjunct faculty at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles since 2001, teaching courses on Immigration Law (Immigration& Nationality Law, and Employment-Based Immigration Law).   She was also one of the original co-authors of “Immigration and Nationality Law: Problems and Strategies”, an immigration law textbook published by LexisNexus in 2013 and used by law schools across the country.
