On July 17, 2017, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published a revised version of Form I-9, which is a form used by companies to verify identity and employment eligibility. The new version of Form I-9 brings minor changes to the form’s instructions and list of acceptable documents.

Employers will be able to use the current version of Form I-9 through September 17, 2017. Beginning September 18, 2017, employers must use the revised Form I-9. Employers must also continue following existing storage and retention rules for any previously completed Form I-9. Click here for more information on the revised Form I-9.
